Folks, it has been a long week. There was another snow storm. There were two snow days, and a late start day. The shoveling and plowing were minimal this time, but it was cold. It was one hundred year record-breaking cold. Nothing froze that wasn’t supposed to, and for that I am grateful.
Few things get done on snow days. Lunch gets done. By some small bit of serendipity, editing a fun piece of flash fiction got done! The cold temperatures brought another round of cabin fever. There was time for much prayer also.
Snow removal was a welcome break from the cabin of chaos. It is work, but I don’t mind. It becomes meditative after the shovel handle warms up. Also, the out-of-doors are very beautiful after a snow. Finally, today I have a few minutes to clickity-clack something for you.
“Is it that fun piece of flash,” you might ask? No, it is not. I am submitting that for publication soon. Whoever picks it up wants to be the first to publish it. “They’ll never know,” you say. Unfortunately, they would. A simple online word search would turn up this post. Also, I am honest. I will tell you that the working title is Last to Die.
Today I have for you, a swift poem inspired by how I courted my wife. Yes. I am unabashedly in love with that woman. Always will be.
I hope your week was not long, and there were no cabin fevered snow days!
